Project:  Red Bull Art of Can National Exhibition

July 12 – 25, 2008

The Galleria, Houston, TX

 

One very large bull, a hummingbird and an oversized (say, oh, around size 36) cowboy boot were just a few of the innovative works of art created with or inspired by Red Bull Cans for the recent Red Bull Art of Can 2008 National Exhibition. 

 

To showcase this dynamic event, 2020 Exhibits in Houston was selected and awarded The Red Bull Art of Can RFP to create a 40’ x 70’ functional, museum-like custom exhibit.  With ten days to deliver on their promise, the 2020 Exhibits Team constructed a clean, sleek custom exhibit, honoring the original design, which would beautifully showcase the varied works of art and successfully transform the open, mall space into a stunning gallery-like environment. 

 

With heavy mall foot traffic, an average of 100,000 visitors daily, traveling through The Galleria, Octanorm provided the ideal solution. Utilizing Octanorm’s clean, brushed aluminum, 2020 Exhibits had the flexibility and functionality required to stabilize the main structure, which included both solid and open walls along with customized display cases. On Opening Night, over 1,000 excited guests and artists celebrated the unveiling during a private, invitation-only event.  From gallery owners to museum curators, artists and local philanthropists, the crowd was wowed by the art and it’s elegantly designed, understated back drop.  Special events and parties were held on a nightly basis, throughout the two week exhibition. 2020 Exhibits also handled the onsite logistics.
